Los Chachis

No one is really sure what it means exactly, but mis Abuelos have referred to each other lovingly as 'chachi" for as long as I can remember. To say that they are incredible is to fall embarrassingly short of doing them justice. The things they have done, survived and triumphed above are things most often found in movies and literary works we'd like to think were fiction (perhaps, another blog post one day.....).

On October 10, 2009, after 80+ years of making everyone who has ever known him burst with love and pride, Jose Prendes departed our Earthly existence and is finally at peace.

I can still hear the jokes he would constantly tell, cracking himself up along the way.

Te quiero Abuelo... ayer, hoy y para siempre.
