Jeanne + Ryan

Jeanne & Ryan just got married (yesterday!) and I couldn't help blogging some of their pics right away. Here's a sneak peak:

I love this dress shot!

Ummmm... super model? Seriously!

Awh!

So playful!

This one has a texture applied. I love how vintage fab it looks!

The new Mr. & Mrs!

Look at their cake! Yes- it was made of COOKIES! Brilliant!

Jeanne likes bright colors, so naturally, her centerpieces were multi-colored gerber daisies. Great choice Jeanne!

Their reception was at the Champions Club. How could we not shoot this? I love the rim lighting, courtesy of the street lamp. :)

Thanks for letting me be part of your day you two! :)

Butterfly Love

This is a way cool story that I only recently found out about. Sept. 2006 I photographed Mikala & Chad's wedding. As they were walking out after the ceremony, a monarch butterfly landed on her bouquet just long enough to be pose for a photo.

Later, I found out that her family has come to view the monarch as a symbol for her late grandfather. On several occasions since he passed, monarch butterflies have made appearances at special family functions, including her wedding.

Isn't that neat? I just love stuff like that. :)

I hope I did that story justice.... it was passed on to me from Mikala's dad, to my mom, to me... so... hopefully it didn't lose anything in translation. :)

Christmas Love

Ryan & Jordan were married on Dec. 22nd. It was a festive celebration!

Jordan was such a brave girl.... we headed OUTSIDE for pictures (yay!). Just as they stood under this gazebo, the neighboring church bells began playing holiday tunes. It was a magical moment!

Here's Jordan braving the elements in open toed bridal shoes! Look at her go!

How cute are these little dolls?

The cake was gorgeous. The city lights sparkled in the background. Love it!

Thanks for letting me be part of your celebration guys! Enjoy your photos!

Lance + Mandy

I first met Lance and Mandy quite some time ago when Lance called to ask me about photographing their wedding. (Yes! It was HE who called!) We met over at the Blend (Lance's mom runs it.... great place... incredible sandwhiches!). The first thing that struck me about both of them is their incredible sweetness towards each other and everyone else.

Here's Mandy diving into her dress.

I think they thought I was nuts when I suggested they trot out to this location for a few shots... (they had quite a steep hill to climb down, and subsequently.... back up), but the colors are worth it! Love it!

Mandy surprised Lance when she put on her custom embroidered sneakers. They have their wedding date stitched along the side of the heel.... and they were bright orange, of course, for Halloween!

When Mandy entered the back of the room, it was touching to see two of her brothers walking her down the aisle. She got part way down, then switched to her other two brothers who escorted her the rest of the way. I love personal touches and unique expressions of love like that!

Check out this incredibly carved pumpkin - wow!

Thanks so much for letting me be part of your special day guys! Best wishes and congratulations!

Matt + Staci

Isn't fall a gorgeous time for a wedding? Matt and Staci thought so, and I agree! (Plus, you get to do cool ring shots like this! Aren't those gold leaves the perfect accessory? :)

As soon as I met Lindsey (the groom's sister), I thought she looked familiar. Several HOURS later I realized that quite a few people at the wedding looked familiar, and it dawned on us that we knew each other 15 or so years ago. We went to different high schools, but still managed to remember each other's names after all these years.... impressive! :)

Fun to see you all again!

You know you're in Nebraska when.... (I love the windmills!)

Dancing under the stars!

Country Pines does it again!

Thanks for letting me be part of your day guys! May your honeymoon never end!

Anthony & Amanda

Their big day finally came! They celebrated in style with family and friends at Hillcrest Country Club after a ceremony at St. Peter's Church.

I LOVE this shot... doesn't it just say... "yummy?"

Who doesn't love a beautiful bouquet?

The bridesmaids get the party started...

Shoe shot... what can I say? I have a thing for capturing the shoes. :)

Molley the Trolley was on hand to transport the wedding party in style!

Anthony wore a white pinstriped suit complete with a top hat and walking stick... topped with a shimmering crystal. Wow!

Here's Amanda's dad keeping me on my toes.... :)

Got 'cha! Nobody can hide from the camera forever... :)

I love that the chapel is backed by a full wall of windows providing a gorgeous glow!

Check out the cute kiddos!

This kid was incredible on the dance floor! He wasn't shy about asking the ladies to dance and when they accepted his invitation, he definitely showed them a good time! Twisting and twirling... he made those girls feel like princesses!

Thanks for letting me be part of your big day you two! Best wishes for a happy forever! :)

Lindsay & Joel

I met Lindsay and Joel through Lindsay's mom, Denise... whom I was honored to have in one of the classes I teach at SCC.

Their big day finally arrived, and went off without a hitch!

I love when we find silly things and people aren't afraid to have some fun with it... :)

This shot is extra fun because of the extreme angle... and complete unawareness of the camera.

We played on the escalators for quite awhile, while an audience of family and friends cheered them on.

Little man anxiously awaiting his moment of bubble blowing fame...

First dance...

OK- so as we were arriving at the Cornhusker for the reception, Joel tells me he really wants a photo a la the cover of the Reservoir Dogs... Just for fun. This one is for him!

It's not uncommon as I'm packing up my gear to head home for the night, members of the wedding party, family, and/or other guests come up to me and say, "Don't leave! Stay and party with us!"

To me, that is a compliment of the highest degree. It means that I'm not just someone who is there providing a service, but that I'm actually part of the celebration. It means that they all had a good time and think of me as a friend, not just a photographer. That... my friends, is what it's all about.

Thank you to everyone involved with Lindsay and Joel's wedding. It was an honor!

Angel & Dan: You Can't Be Serious!

Ok- so a few weeks ago I shot Seth and Erica's wedding. A few weeks later, I had the honor of shooting the wedding of their friends, Dan and Angel.

At Seth & Erica's wedding, the guys in the wedding party kept joking that they had lost Seth's ring, etc.... and we all had a good laugh. So understandably, I didn't believe them when they came up to me at Dan & Angel's wedding and said, "Dan lost the ring!"

I kept expecting them to surprise us all at the last minute with a, "Got 'cha!" But... alas... it never came. Dan did, indeed, lose his ring... even before the ceremony!

The cool part was... these two love birds were having such a great time, they didn't let something like a missing ring keep them from enjoying their big day!

Here they are in Angel's VW Thing... Love it!

They were married at Country Pines (if you've never been there... it's a must-see!). The outdoor setting made for some fun additions to the guest list, including: a black cat, wild mushrooms, an adorable little frog, and an exotic grasshopper!

Isn't this grasshopper gorgeous!?

Angel and Dan have an incredible group of family & friends. Seriously. I've had the privilege of being part of two of their wedding celebrations so far... Here they are pitching in to help search for the missing ring.

On their hands and knees even! What a bunch!

The ceremony started just before sunset....

The pastor was awesome. Check out his guitar! He even played and sang during the ceremony... truly fantastic!

Angel and Dan did several things I had never seen done at a wedding before. For one thing, their guests were treated to dinner before the ceremony. Their schedule went something like this:

  1. Guests arrive and share in fabulous dinner - 6pm
  2. Everyone finds their seat to enjoy a gorgeous ceremony at sunset - 7:30pm
  3. Dance the night away under the stars - 8:00 - ???

It was a brilliant plan and was executed to perfection! Having it all at one place made for smooth transitions.

At the end of their ceremony, the entire group of guests was invited to get out of their seats and form a (rather large) circle around Angel & Dan for some final well wishes. It was a powerful gesture both visually, physically, and emotionally.

Congratulations and best wishes to the both of you! Thank you for the opportunity to be part of your special day!

Elliot & Becky

What better way to start your day, than at Elliot & Becky's wedding!? The ceremony started at 10:00am (yes... AM!) so we got a bright and early start on photos.

Their guests were treated to a delicious lunch, which meant that Elliot & Becky could enjoy their evening together, just the two of them! Great idea you two!

Here's Becky looking incredible!

Wow... it doesn't get better than this! Look at the look on Elliot's face when he saw her for the first time! I love it!

Elliot did his share of helping to hold her flowers.... :) Nice work!

I love, love, love this shot! Do they look 1950's glam, or what?

The reception facility made for awesome photos!

Thanks for letting me be part of your special day guys! And special thanks to Kathy, Becky's mom, who wouldn't let me leave without taking a table topper cake home with me for dessert! It was delicious!
