Congrats to Megan & Ben who tied the knot this past Friday! Two big cheers for Friday fall weddings in Nebraska!
Few things are quite as delicious as a fall wedding here in Nebraska. Here's a look at Will and Chelsie's autumn delight!
It's not every day that you go to buy a car—and come home with a husband! (Ok, it wasn't quite that fast, but these two met when he sold her a car. Isn't that a hoot?) We had a ball making the most of the best the season has to offer, and I even captured Ron's super stealth (and adorable) smile!
Omaha was the setting for Kim and Joe's engagement photos, but their wedding venue is in Mexico this February. ¡Buen viaje!
Katie and Craig are still on their honeymoon (in Italy!!!), but their images are finished (as is their album design) and will be waiting for them upon their return! Here's a sneak peek of some of the goodness that will greet them when they make it back to their inbox. :) What a fun day!
You know you're in for a treat when the bride's nickname is Buzz! Being in residency in NYC, she's crazy busy, so her dad did most of the wedding planning, and I didn't get much interaction with Buzz until I walked in Saturday morning and introduced myself. I was immediately smitten and instantly knew the day would be a blast. And wouldn't you know, I was right! Then I met Andre and I thought—how does this keep getting even more awesome? What a gorgeous couple! And so in love. When you look at the photos you can tell they were radiating joy all day long. An adventurous gal myself, I was fascinated to learn that Buzz climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro with her brother and dad. (It's on my list!) And later in the evening, after a first dance that was too smooth for words, I found out that Andre, a scientist who's originally from Jamaica, was a professional ballroom dance instructor in college. Because—of course he was. He's fascinating and talented like that. See what I mean? Spending the day with these two and their families was like much needed medicine for my heart. Thank you all!
Halley and Chad's day seemed to be filled with pure joy. From the forecast rain that never came, to their personally written vows, the day was rich with love and splendor.
Two big cheers for fall weddings in Nebraska! Can't wait to see these two tie the knot in September!
I had a ball celebrating with these two and their families... Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs, and to you all!
When it comes to Alicia and Anton's wedding, words fail me. Thankfully, I have photos... so I'll let them do the talking. Hats off to a tremendous one-of-a-kind event pulled off with massive collaboration from AAA Rentals, The Stem Gallery, Deb Schulte, and a flurry of incredible entertainers, cake designers and dress makers from all over the country. Touché. Tou-freaking-ché.
I'm sure Lindsey has been chomping at the bit to see this sneak peek... and the truth is, when I first went through and had my own sneak peek at everything, I originally picked 167 images for the blog. As much as I would love to post them all here, 167 images is a bit crazy (even for me). So it took me awhile to come to terms with saving some of them for later (not too much later, just later this week when their entire wedding edit and album design are finished). There's not much I can say that the pictures don't already convey: The day was perfect, Lindsey was a vision, and everyone had a rockin' good time. Lindsey assembled an all-star team of vendors to help make her dreams come true including Lovestruck Weddings and Events, JF+M, and The 402.
In a fun departure from our classic ShootShack backdrop, Lindsey opted for gold sequins to fit the rest of her gold and pink theme. It was a huge hit—I love these images!
And this, ladies and gents, is Candace from Lovestruck Weddings and Events. She's a wedding planning super star, and it was WONDERFUL to work with her and her associate, Lindsay, on this event. If you need help with your wedding plans—she's your gal!
Hastings, Nebraska was bursting at the seams with love this past Saturday as Adrian and Holly tied the knot and became "The Carlsons." (How fun is that?)
Isn't the lace on Holly's dress gorgeous? I love wedding dresses with some sort of strap...
I love the expression on her face here... like she's not quite sure about that corsage...
Congrats you two—enjoy Estes Park!!!
Being invited back to photograph the wedding of a sibling of a previous client is among the most ultimate in compliments. It's been nearly four years since I shot Trevor + Allison's wedding, and it was a blast to see everyone again (along with a new grand daughter to boot). Clar and Mike are both fortunate to have such loving, supportive, and connected families. From the toast Mike's brother gave to Clar's dance with her dad... there were plenty of joyful tears to go around.
Trevor, Allison, and Lillia! (Guessing on the spelling... hope I'm at least close?)
I remember when Megan was just a kid, and I'd see her around at neighborhood and school events. This weekend, escorted by her father, a very grown up Megan walked down the aisle and into John's arms. It was an honor to be there to capture the beginning of their new adventure. Much love!
It's spring here in Nebraska, which means the lilacs are blooming, the birds are chirping, and for Lacey and Andrew—wedding bells will soon be ringing! July here we come!
Often times, I come into my clients' lives amidst a sea of chaos and change: graduations, studying for the bar exam followed by taking the bar exam, wedding planning, showers, rehearsals, and—not to mention—starting a new life together. Despite the whirlwind of to-do's, these two are incredibly at ease. 'Tis the season of life! I look forward to celebrating with you in August... until then—remember to breathe!
I first met Chelsea years ago when I had the honor of creating her senior portraits, and to hear that she was planning a wedding made me feel as excited as it did old! (Where has the time gone anyway?) Mother nature smiled on us last Friday as we captured these portraits in the gorgeous light of the setting sun...
A frame and two adorable flower girls are like frosting on the cake, making any image that much sweeter...
Chelsea nailed the schedule for the day, and we reaped the benefits with this light...
The kids! So sweet, so helpful, so eager to be part of the fun...
Congratulations ladies... I'm so thrilled to be part of your day!
