More Fall "Stuff"

I was on my way home from a shoot a few weeks ago when I saw this tree in someone's yard. I made a u-turn and snapped this pic. The colors are incredible!

Staci's shoot brought me out to her family's acreage in Hickman, NE. So beautiful! She has horses and a small army of cats! (check out this link for a hilarious cat lover's cartoon)

Lance + Mandy

I first met Lance and Mandy quite some time ago when Lance called to ask me about photographing their wedding. (Yes! It was HE who called!) We met over at the Blend (Lance's mom runs it.... great place... incredible sandwhiches!). The first thing that struck me about both of them is their incredible sweetness towards each other and everyone else.

Here's Mandy diving into her dress.

I think they thought I was nuts when I suggested they trot out to this location for a few shots... (they had quite a steep hill to climb down, and subsequently.... back up), but the colors are worth it! Love it!

Mandy surprised Lance when she put on her custom embroidered sneakers. They have their wedding date stitched along the side of the heel.... and they were bright orange, of course, for Halloween!

When Mandy entered the back of the room, it was touching to see two of her brothers walking her down the aisle. She got part way down, then switched to her other two brothers who escorted her the rest of the way. I love personal touches and unique expressions of love like that!

Kara Leigh Jazz Combo — Free at 6

I'm thrilled to announce that my friend Kara Leigh is playing with her jazz ensemble at the Lied Center this Tuesday! She's a very gifted musician who has worked hard and come a long way.

Anything and Everything Red

Several weeks (or was it months?) ago my husband and I were at an antique shop looking for inspiration (for photo shoots, of course). I was hoping to find a charming old chair. We were about to leave the place (A Street Antiques... thanks again Kevin!) when a woman who had overheard us on the prowl for a cute chair pointed out this one.

The clincher? I had been planning to paint whatever we found red... and this one just so happened to already be that color. The bonus? It's already sporting the worn and weathered look. :)
