May Your Flowers Live On!

Ok, ok... I've been crazy swamped lately..... and haven't posted since Sunday (gasp!).... but it's all good stuff coming down the pipes... I promise!

On a side note, check out the FANTABULOUS Missy Cannon from Flowers Into Paintings. A gifted fine artist, she can forever preserve your wedding bouquet by transforming it into a one-of-a-kind wall art painting! (I wish I had known about her when Emir and I were married, you can bet I would have had her do my bouquet... I just love stuff like this!)

Happy Friday! :)

Megan + Nate

Megan + Nate tied the knot yesterday. I couldn't resist giving everyone a sneak peek... so here are a few quickies.... :)

Megan looking glam fab....

I have a thing for photographing make-up brushes... and these ones were pink --double bonus!

A little gettin' ready assistance.....

What snuggle bugs! (Isn't her hair beautiful?)

We got extra creative with available locations... I really like how this shot worked out. :)

Since they got married on the 29th of March, we thought this was apropos.

This is the darling ring bearer... Will. He has cute blonde hair and sweet brown eyes... what a combo! During the ceremony, after he triumphantly made it down the aisle, he climbed under the pew where I caught this image of him. (Those are his toy cars in the bottom left corner... so funny. This picture will be priceless when he grows up...)

The rings.... we can't forget those!

Here's their first dance as a married couple!

Thanks for letting me be part of your celebration you two. May your days (and nights!) be filled with love! :)

The Name Game

Having a hard time deciding what to do with your name after you get married? Something that has become increasingly popular is for couples to actually combine their last names into something new when they marry... with each of them changing their names to the new version (vs. one person taking the other person's name by default). I've actually had some friends of mine who did this. Even if that isn't your cup of tea, check out some automated combinations of your names from WeddingChannel.com just for fun. I don't plan to blend our names, but Emir and I did find some fun possible names for our (future) kids!

From the Road....

Howdy! I'm on the road this week teaching Photoshop in 3 cities across 2 states... fun, fun, fun! That means Emir went stag to our dance class last night... :( What a great sport he is... I can't wait for him to show me what he learned!

What's a post without photos? Here are a couple I happen to have with me from a trip Emir and I took a couple years ago... These are no ordinary pigeons. They're Venetian pigeons. As in... Venice, Italy. I thought there was something special about them.... :)

The Jackpot of Bridesmaid Dresses!

For all you brides out there (and bridesmaids....) check out what I stumbled upon while surfing today.... this gorgeous dress (available in a multitude of colors) that can be worn TEN different ways. One dress, TEN options!

I'm thinking of ordering one for myself... just for fun. Now I just need Emir to take me out someplace fancy so I have a reason to wear it (it doesn't exactly lend itself to be worn while I'm shooting ha ha! Can you imagine? :)

The Incredible Hulk + Hulkette

This morning, we got up early and drove to Omaha to watch my Incredible Hulk of a brother (and his incredible hulk-ette of a girlfriend) pump some serious iron at a power-lifting competition.

Here's the Hulk himself... isn't he a cutie?

Hard to believe this guy squating 463lbs. is my kid brother. He went on to bench 331lbs. and deadlift a whopping 535lbs.!

How cute is this? He and Jamie have matching shoes... :)

Here's Jamie going for her squat totaling 178lbs. She benched 106lbs. and dead lifted 204lbs. Whoa! Go Jamie!

You can't tell in the photo, but she was rockin' a purple power belt.... what a stylish diva. :)

Emir and my dad look on.... Mom and I were front and center for photo opps... :)

Here's my hunk-a-hunk-a husband... :)

My Doad (aka: dad. My sister spelled it "Doad" when she was a kid, and it just stuck....)

That was fun guys.... way to go!

Wall-o-Famer

Sarah emailed me this week to see if I would take a head shot for her. She won a spot of honor on her high school wall of fame (she's a speech team super star!)... and wanted something more than the standard photo (that always gets my photo radar cranked up.....). I said, "Bring it!" And here she is... doing just that!

(I LOVE her red shoes!)

Sassy pants....

I imagine this is the one that may make the wall-o-fame in her school... but I couldn't resist having a bit more fun....

What!? Was it something I said? :)

Thanks Sarah... that was so fun! I'm looking foward to shooting your senior pictures in the fall!
