Fun in the Sun!

After my cousin's wedding, we spent 2 days playing in Miami. We spent day one (Sunday) bike riding through the city. We rented bikes in South Beach, and rode to downtown's Bayfront Park where we took a trapeze class (video coming soon!).

The cool thing about the bike rentals is, we planned the whole thing from my phone's Internet connection and Google text. It was a last minute idea that turned out to be a highlight of our trip (next to the trapeze class, of course.... :) Yay mobile Internet!

Trapeze class was the coolest thing! I'm preparing to get the video posted... stay tuned!

While walking around, it was common for the camera lenses to fog up from the humidity. I've had this happen to me a few times here at home, but it was a regular occurrence in Miami. Crazy!

Before heading to the beach on day two (Monday), we stopped for what we thought would be a cheap breakfast....

...until we ordered strawberry daiquiris ($20 a pop!). Holy cow!

It looks like I have a green leaf mustache in this photo.... a good reminder to always keep an eye on the background so silliness like this doesn't happen! (unless you want it to!)

Then, it was time to hit the water. We bought a special water-proof casing for our purse-cam so we could take it into the waves with us. So fun!

How awesome are those clouds? Miami has such an interesting weather pattern, it rains nearly every day.... even if only for 20 minutes or less. The sky is always dramatic! (Thank goodness for Weight Watchers! Ha ha!)

More food.... (this was a strong theme of our trip.... ;)

Party time at Mango's!

Jason + Jeannette : Emir's Cam

Emir and I just got back from my cousin Jeannette's wedding in Miami. It was the first time in YEARS that I went to a wedding without a camera in my hand... Ha ha ha! So, to mark the occasion, I set Emir up with a camera of his own (early b-day present) and officially put him in charge of photography. Here are some of my favorite shots that he took....

Ok, ok..... so I know I gave the camera to Emir.... but I grabbed it to snag these two shots of my adorable cousins at the rehearsal dinner. Aren't they gorgeous?

Now... back to Emir. :) He was quick to remind me that the camera is indeed.... his. :)

My cousin Mickey's beautiful wife Michelle. I had the honor of attending their wedding in Puerto Rico when I was just 11. They are the proud parents of 3 of the most beautiful little boys you've ever seen.....

These are 2 of them....

Everything was beautiful!

The reception was held in the Havana Club. Amazing!

Officially off duty, I happily enjoyed some champagne... :) (Can you even recognize me without the camera in front of my face? Ha ha!)

On the 55th floor of the Wachovia building downtown, we were treated to spectacular views like this!

One of the (many) neat details of the reception, includes a cigar artist who was hand-rolling cigars per request. You can imagine the excitement..... Havana cigars!?

3 of the 5 gang-o-cousins. I am so proud to call them family! :)

We love you all!!!! (Great job on the photos love!!!)

Jonah, Amanda, Anna, Hayley & Brittany

I've known Jonah's mom for several years. It is such an honor to be photographing Jonah for his senior pictures! He brought a football, so I thought it'd be fun to give him a rightful glory shot. :)

What a great smile!

Amanda told me she's 'not photogenic.' I beg to differ!

Yeow-sa!

Anna is quite a neat young lady. She's actually graduating early to spend a semester in Texas (?) interning on a horse ranch. I *love* to see people doing their thing, and making things happen for themselves. She is well on her way! (Her boots were made for kickin' butt! Aren't they awesome?)

Just plain radtastic!

I *love* this image of Hayley... it's so clean and crisp (it certainly doesn't hurt that she's such a gorgeous gal!).

More beautifulness!

Brittany was so trusting.... it makes SUCH a difference! :)

Great working with all of you... thanks for the honor! :)

Sarah, Lindsay, Mary Claire, Lauren, & Chelsea

I first met Sarah this spring when shooting a headshot for an award she received. Then, I saw her and her family at another client's wedding. This time, she was back for senior pictures. And look what she brought.... a RED pea coat! OMG! :)

Lindsay was cute as a button. Her images are drop dead gorgeous!

How fun is this? Scheduling Mary Claire's shoot involved a lot of phone tag and eraser marks... but we finally got it in. :) I am so diggin' the results!

Lauren marches to the beat of her own drummer. More power to ya Lauren!

(check out her batman belt... how cool is THAT?)

Chelsea wasn't quite sure what to expect.... but had no problem rockin' it out. Go Chelsea!

Thank you for choosing KaBloom ladies! :)

Jenny, Bess, Kalyssa, Vanessa, Lauren & Lauren

Miss Jenny was a good sport and had an enormous amount of patience while I fiddled with some new ideas..... Thanks Jenny!

Bess is just one of those people you instantly like. :) Maybe because she's a fellow shutter bug, perhaps? :) Here she is looking fab!

I hope Rustic continues to recover Bess! :)

I had the honor of photographing Kalyssa's mom Karalyn for the Mrs. Nebraska pageant. This time it was Kalyssa's turn to work it in front of the lens! :) She definitely inherited her mom's good looks!

Here's.......... 'Nessa! Such a free spirit, she was up for anything!

Lauren B. treated onlookers to a violin concert while shooting. Have I mentioned lately how much I *love* my job!?

A little dramatic interpretation...... :)

Lauren C. has an electric laugh. Look at that! Fantastic!

And... she has plenty o' sass to share! Go Lauren! :)

Love Shoot! Caitlin + Nate

The weather was less than cooperative, but that couldn't stop us. Ciatlin and Nate were so pumped for their shoot, that we headed out despite the rain (at times.... downpour!).

Eventually, they got sick of the umbrellas, and went without. That's when we scored this rockin' "Notebook" moment (I'm such a chick! Ha!).

Later, we decided to try something indoors and out of the rain.... :)

Thanks for your open-mindedness and willingness to play! Can't wait for your big day! :)
