Boxes. Packaging tape. Shipments. Shoots. Edits. Deadlines. Phone calls. Emails. Amongst the craziness of the busy fall season, I am making an extra effort to delight in the small stuff. You know what I'm talking about.... the sunshine that peeks through the clouds on a gorgeous fall day. The smell of crisp autumn leaves twirling from the tree tops (onto the lawn, awaiting a good raking), and of course.... the opportunity to wear boots, scarves and yummy sweaters! The past few days (weeks) are kind of a blur. In the middle of it, I found this little treat waiting for me on my front porch. The thank you card wasn't signed, so I can only guess what sweet and thoughtful person(s) left this... but I think I have a pretty good guess. :) Please know that you made my day! Maybe the small stuff isn't so small after all? :)

After months of planning, I was so thrilled to finally get to meet Melissa & Eric! They tied the knot today and I was lucky enough to be invited to come to Sioux City to capture everything as it unfolded. Here's some of the beautifulness that danced its way across the front of my lens. Enjoy!

These kids were so funny.... they couldn't decide between hamming it up for my camera or sharing their excitement over the stretch hummer that lead the wedding party away after the ceremony. Too cute!
The party made a pit-stop at a favorite bar where Eric & Melissa love to visit.
The kids *loved* the wide open space of the convention center. These cuties are all cousins... can you imagine how much fun they have at family get-togethers?!
This lil' cutie was my fave... she repeatedly crawled under this display signage and the minute my camera caught up with her, she stood up and hid her little face from view. I think I actually like the image better this way than how I had originally intended to capture it. What a stinker! :)

A few weeks ago I had the honor of presenting a webinar for AsukaBook on how to use InDesign to create layouts for AsukaBook. The recorded version of the webinar is now live on their website. You can find it listed among their past webinars. For those already familiar with InDesign, I demonstrate the necessary steps for exporting to an Asuka-Friendly format. :)

The lovely Miss Olivia came from Omaha for her senior photo shoot and boy oh boy, did we have the most glorious day to work with! I first met her family three years (???) ago when I photographed her sister Allison. Good looks must run in their genes... the gals are just plain gorgeous! I've known Chelsea for.... as long as I can remember. I've watched Chelsea and her sister grow up and turn into smart, beautiful and successful young women. The world has many great things in store for this young lady.... and she will surely share her many gifts and talents with the world. I can't see what you do with your fab self Chelsea! :) Is it just me, or is she drop-dead gorgeous? Wow Chelsea!

Where do I start? Zach and I laughed it up over one of our favorite shows, Saturday Night Live. If you've ever seen this sketch, you know what we're talking about. Kristin Wiig is the best!
Zach is one happy guy. He's outgoing and loves to laugh. We had a ball!

Not only did we share a love for Saturday Night Live, but Zach is also a swimmer! He likes to kick-butt on sprints like the 50yd-freestyle. Go Zach!
Getting to do work for people who appreciate photo art is a huge thrill. Eric has an eye for photography all his own.... so when he and Emily asked me to be their wedding photographer, I was pumped. They view photography as a critically important part of their day, so you can imagine how honored I am to know that such discerning clients chose yours truly to capture their wedding memories. :) Even better? It's coming up right around the corner in November! We managed to work in the love shoot just in time!
Eric is quite the romantic. He was so excited to propose that he popped the question before he had Emily's ring... so he made a stand-in out of purple pipe-cleaner to seal the deal in the meantime. :) How cute is *that?* (seen below)

I love when clients (especially cutie pies like Dani + Adam!) are up for a photo adventure! This marked the last year that the Nebraska State Fair would be held in Lincoln before moving to Grand Island.... and what better way to bid it farewell than with a love shoot? :) These are too fun!!!!
I have to say.... this was a *hard* shot to get! Ha! I was sitting behind them on the ferris wheel and not only were we both moving, but watching the world whirl by through the lens of a camera while being in constant motion is a recipe for losing your lunch... ha! It was a close call, but I love that we made it work! (Special thanks to the awesome fair peeps who were so good to us!)

I love to see brilliant people with equally brilliant ideas! My friend and fellow photographer Maile Wilson from Relish Photography in San Antonio, TX is walking the walk. When looking for a camera bag to fit her needs left her empty handed, she decided to take matters into her own hands and is releasing her own line of fashionably functional camera bags!
