Down the Aisle: Chad + Lindsay | Wedding Photographer Lincoln

Truly a gold medal performance! It was 30 degrees out, but from the looks of these two, you'd never know it! When I arrived at the church, I was curious to see what Lindsay's take would be on the whole weather situation. She walked right up to me and insisted, "We're still going outside!" Naturally, I was happy to oblige! wedding-photographer-lincoln-08wedding-photographer-lincoln-10wedding-photographer-lincoln-09

Chad actually carried Lindsay up a hill, over a barbed-wire fence and through a wet, soggy field for this shot. Incredible!

This was the point where fingers and toes were numb and it was time to head back.... :)

Remember Stanley? He made a surprise appearance just for this photo (he also was mentioned in the program. True love I tell ya!)

This book is a family heirloom bible. Too cool!

The reception was held at the Lincoln Country Club and featured cake by none other than the Lincoln Cake Lady, Donna Roehrs. Several different flavors were available, including apple-caramel! Hello!!!!???? Heavenly! (Note the fish vase below.... the groom cake featured a 'gone fishing' theme. Nothing like real live fish to add to the ambience! :)

Can you feel the energy in this photo? Kids are so fun to watch at receptions. I love it!

Score!

wedding-photographer-lincoln-12

Touchdown! Goal! Score. You guys found each other and are now a family. That's the jackpot right there! Congrats to you both!!!

Down the Aisle: Josh + Kelly | Wedding Photographer Lincoln

Oh my goodness! Not only were Josh and Kelly soooooooooo fun and easy to work with...... but Kelly confided in me that it was me (and the cake) she was most excited to have as part of her wedding day (in addition to all the obvious stuff like Josh... and their families, etc..... but.... no pressure, right?).   I love when clients are as excited to have me there as I am to be there! It means that we're all going to have a good time and great images are going to come from it.  Thanks for your smiles, your enthusiasm.... your heart! I'm madly in love with this image! As in, I'd happily marry it! (Ha! Remember when kids used to tease each other with that line!?) Seriously though.... L.O.V.E.

Hollywood called, they want their starlet back! :)

Autumn weddings in Nebraska are oh so yummy!

When I saw Kelly in her dress my jaw hit the floor. Va-va-voom!

wedding_photographer_lincoln_06

Tryin' to bring the sexy back.... made for lots of giggles. :)

My **other** fave...... (all because of her heels lifted just off the ground......)

wedding_photographer_lincoln_01

Oh my gosh! That was so fun you guys! Big hugs to you both!!!!!!!!

Squirrels: 82, Us: 1

You'd think the score would be a bit more even.... but those lil' squirrels are hard core! After nearly four years of enjoying our apple tree (and picking up the ruins the squirrels eat and toss on the ground), we finally had one they couldn't get their hands on. It stayed on the tree long enough to ripen and turn red. Truly a first at our place!

Ripe for the picking, I grabbed my camera and captured it. (Opportunity, like an apple, doesn't hang around forever!)

Two Syllables, or Three?

This time of year is my ABSOLUTE FAVE. When I'm not shooting, I love to visit one of the local farms and/or pumpkin patches. This year, after a fab love shoot session with Jennifer + Nick (coming up!), Emir and I hung out awhile longer to take advantage of the gorgeous day to be had at Roca Berry Farm. The main goal on my mind was to score my yearly quota of caramel apples. :) Best. Thing. Ever. Which brings me to the question, am I the only person who says 'carmel' instead of 'car-a-mel?' Is that a geographical thing like soda/pop? Either way, I already can't wait for next year!

All Smiles!

I'm sooooo grateful that amidst the frenzy that is my life this time of year, I managed to stop by Adis & Laura's house to catch up on the latest and greatest happenings with lil' Haris. He's somewhere around 5-ish months... and couldn't be squishier! 161514

I love that he's standing in this one (with some help from his Tata, of course!). He looks like such a little man!

Haris is a twin for his mom!

Emir couldn't resist getting in on some Haris time too! I **love** the expression on Haris' face here!

Studios Magazine: Eye Candy

Local creative guru and fabulous friend of ours Jackie Ostrowicki (and her drool worthy studio space!) are featured in the Fall 2009 edition of Studios Magazine. I had the honor of visiting her incredible space and snapping this photo. A drool worthy space indeed! To read the feature, click here for an enlarged copy. If you'd like  to check out the magazine in the flesh, you can pick it up at Barnes & Noble. Prepare to be inspired!

The Small Stuff

Boxes. Packaging tape. Shipments. Shoots. Edits. Deadlines.  Phone calls. Emails. Amongst the craziness of the busy fall season, I am making an extra effort to delight in the small stuff. You know what I'm talking about.... the sunshine that peeks through the clouds on a gorgeous fall day. The smell of crisp autumn leaves twirling from the tree tops (onto the lawn, awaiting a good raking), and of course.... the opportunity to wear boots, scarves and yummy sweaters! The past few days (weeks) are kind of a blur. In the middle of it, I found this little treat waiting for me on my front porch. The thank you card wasn't signed, so I can only guess what sweet and thoughtful person(s) left this... but I think I have a pretty good guess. :) Please know that you made my day! Maybe the small stuff isn't so small after all? :)

Thank you!

Down the Aisle: Eric + Melissa | Sioux City Wedding Photographer

After months of planning, I was so thrilled to finally get to meet Melissa & Eric! They tied the knot today and I was lucky enough to be invited to come to Sioux City to capture everything as it unfolded. Here's some of the beautifulness that danced its way across the front of my lens. Enjoy! sioux_city_wedding_photographer_13sioux_city_wedding_photographer_06sioux_city_wedding_photographer_07sioux_city_wedding_photographer_05

Eric, the tiger!

sioux_city_wedding_photographer_11sioux_city_wedding_photographer_09sioux_city_wedding_photographer_10

These kids were so funny.... they couldn't decide between hamming it up for my camera or sharing their excitement over the stretch hummer that lead the wedding party away after the ceremony. Too cute!

sioux_city_wedding_photographer_14sioux_city_wedding_photographer_16sioux_city_wedding_photographer_15

The party made a pit-stop at a favorite bar where Eric & Melissa love to visit.

The kids *loved* the wide open space of the convention center. These cuties are all cousins... can you imagine how much fun they have at family get-togethers?!

sioux_city_wedding_photographer_23

This lil' cutie was my fave... she repeatedly crawled under this display signage and the minute my camera caught up with her, she stood up and hid her little face from view. I think I actually like the image better this way than how I had originally intended to capture it. What a stinker! :)

sioux_city_wedding_photographer_22

Is this family good lookin' or what? :) Congrats to all three of you!

InDesign and AsukaBook: Webinar Posted Online

A few weeks ago I had the honor of presenting a webinar for AsukaBook on how to use InDesign to create  layouts for AsukaBook. The recorded version of the webinar is now live on their website. You can find it listed among their past webinars. For those already familiar with InDesign, I demonstrate the necessary steps for exporting to an Asuka-Friendly format. :)

Enjoy!
