Love Shoot: Meghan + Brandon

She's a flight attendant. He's a programmer. They're both adorable. With a May wedding on the calendar... we squeezed in their love shoot tonight with the last few leaves hanging around on the trees in a dazzling display of cooperation from mother nature. :) It's been awhile since I busted out the tilt-shift, but shots like this are why I keep reaching for it now and then...

We found one of the few trees around still sporting a full flock of leaves... how nice of it to play along! Meghan and Brandon brought a full picnic basket complete with french baguette, grapes, cheese & cider (and a surprise muffin treat for me!). All the yumminess was wrapped up in true crafty maven style using Meghan's grandmother's fabric swatches...

Their first date was the movie "Pride and Prejudice," so naturally... a leather bound book copy was a must here! (wrapped up old skool style in Brandon's belt = love)

Meghan and I dished on the adorableness of Brandon's cheeky smile lines.... so cute!

We did it guys! Full speed ahead for May!

Down the Aisle: Lauren + Bobby

What fun! Surrounded by family & friends (and several other beloved KaBloom brides), Lauren + Bobby tied the knot on what may possibly have been the  most gorgeous November day in all of Nebraska's history... Truly a beautiful day for a beautiful bride!

I am in ***LOVE*** with this shot! :) Special thanks to the Embassy Suites in La Vista, Nebraska for the groovy wall covering... and to the University of Nebraska - Omaha's faculty jazz band for providing the fabulous silhouette! :)

This cake shot rocked my world too!  The ballroom was beautiful, but cakes have a habit of being set up to be beautifully viewed by guests, but not always beautifully photographed (ie: exit doors/dj stand/otherwise less than gorgeous wall in the background). With a definite front side, it wouldn't work to photograph it from behind (the "L" would be backwards) either... So I lit it in a way that behaved like a spotlight... hiding everything else from sight. Boo-yaw! I love the 'dots' on the fondant... and the shadows they create when lit like this!

Amidst the weekly grocery specials, industry trade mags and ever present Bed, Bath & Beyond coupons, our mail carrier often delivers joy. Yep. Pure joy, in the form of handwritten thank you notes-- directly to our mailbox. :) I'm not sure my clients realize what treasures I consider these all to be... but I save every single one of them. I spend much of my life capturing all the things that make the lives of my clients so darn special... and am always honored and incredibly happy for these little notes that let me know I got it right... that I made a difference.

That's what I'm here for. I am so grateful...

Love Shoot: Hailey + Jon

I'm not sure how many times I've crossed paths with these two lately... but we had a ball meeting up again today! This time, our sole purpose was just that: getting the two of them in front of the lens! :) She and Jon are planning a classic June wedding... and today was a celebration of the road leading them to June! An equestrian since a young age, we met up at the stable where she and her mom board their horses... a gorgeous night! (Pshhhhh.... You know Hailey had me wrapped around her finger the moment I saw that red coat of hers... what a gem! Ha! I'm such a sucker for red!)

Love Shoot: Wendi + Jon

I love when I just 'click' with my clients, it makes everything seem to flow so... effortlessly. Wendi + Jon are just plain cool like that, like we could hang out and talk over wine & cheese plates for hours. :) (Jon is a wine distributor... his knowledge and passion on that subject alone could keep the conversational ball rolling for quite some time... entirely fascinating!). As we walked, talked (and shot), they filled me in on some of what they're looking most forward to on their big day, and some of the family traditions that will help make it so special. The only bummer? I have to wait until May to capture it all for them! :) Ha!

You guys are nothing short of fantastic. Thanks for inviting me to share such a special time in your lives with you... let the countdown begin! :)

I LOVE this shot... I love thinking about what their future children will think of it someday... probably something along the lines of, "Look how gorgeous and in love they are..." I'm just romantic like that I guess...

Another gal with a healthy obsession for the color red and British phone booths? YES! No wonder we got along so well! Brittni and Scott drove over from the big O to dazzle my lens with their gorgeousness. Would you believe these rad phone booth shots were all Scott's idea? I tell ya... I {heart} these two! :) Their big day is less than six months away... March, here we come!

Pumpkin Patch Frolic

I've been following this family for the past year... since lil' Kylan was just a bun in the oven, and I look forward to seeing them each and every time. This shoot was the third in a series we planned to capture Kylan's first year. At her newborn shoot, we decided that sometime in the fall of 2010, we'd reconnect at a pumpkin patch for her 1 year session... and here we are! I loved so many of these images... the only way to make a post of a reasonable size was to blog board them... Kylan's bunny face & Kamryn's missing teeth were not to be excluded! :)
