I just got home from visiting my new nephew Cole (yay!) to find this treasure in my in-box. You'd never believe how much a simple note like this means to me. Andrea + Shane.... you totally rocked my world! Thank YOU!

Holley stopped over back in October to knock out the required yearbook photo.... and we saved the fun stuff until last week. :) How rockin' is this horse trailer shot? Totally worth schlucking gear through horse poop to create, don't cha think? :)

Dolled up and gorgeous!

Holley's horse, Lady, wasn't too fond of having us trying to tell her what to do. She went a bit nuts and gave Holley a ride for her money. This frame was captured before Lady figured out what we were up to.....

A girl and her truck..... I love the sticker on the back....

Double threat! Country cow-girl... and glamour starlet... all at the same time!

Nicely done Holley!
Cohagen. Isn't that a cool name, in and of itself? Not to mention the interesting person who embodies it. :) Cohagen showed up at my door step recently to squeeze in some last minute senior photos before he graduates this spring. Here are my faves!

I am really drawn to this image.... for some reason, it seems surprisingly powerful to me....

Thanks for choosing KaBloom Studios Cohagen! Happy graduation! :)
When Andrea heard that a guy from Nebraska (Nebraska!) was working at the same place she worked (in D.C. I believe....), she simply had to meet him. Who'd ever heard of anyone from Nebraska in those parts??? :) Apparently, Shane was quite the charmer because somehow, in that instant.... something clicked and they've been together ever since. Their travels have taken them around the east coast, overseas to Japan where they lived for nearly a year teaching English, and throughout southeast Asia. Roughly 3 years since their fateful meeting, their journey brought them here.... where they start their next adventure together as husband and wife. I had the honor of photographing Shane's family some time ago.... and to have the opportunity to spend such a special day with them and Andrea's family.... well... color me flattered!

Andrea's sister Melissa is a magician with needle and thread. She designed and sewed the dress herself... from scratch. I love to see the work of other artisans.... and can only imagine the love and thought that went into creating such a jewel for her sister on this occasion. Here she is tending to some last minute details before Andrea slips it on.

Melissa's son Lorenzo pays some special attention to his tie before making his entrance.

The crew were great sports with the wind and cold. Ladies, you deserve a medal!

I'm in love with this shot of Andrea and her dad!

The entertainment for the evening was the Mighty Nish Band (out of Omaha I believe....). They were exceptional!

You were all a dream to work with! Thank you SO much for the opportunity to witness two such wonderful famlies becoming one! Congrats to you all!
I have to start this post with this ring shot because.... I'm pretty much in love with it. :) It's been in my head for quite awhile, and today, it was finally born (kinda like my new nephew who arrived yesterday!).

I was so paranoid about being on time today, that I actually arrived 30 minutes early. After scoping out the scene and brainstorming for a few minutes, I walked in to see to Jenni looking.... absolutely stunning! As in, I actually did a double take when I saw her. Just as gorgeous as could be!

The church was undergoing some pretty serious construction that didn't leave it with much to offer in terms of photographic inspiration, so we headed off-site, braving the frigid temperatures and blustery wind.

Those green eyes are all hers... Incredible!

This shot was for her Grandpa. He really wanted to capture her red shoes. I couldn't agree more!

The reception was at Chez Hay. The peeps over there (Wendy, Sean & Lynn) really know their stuff. The food is un-be-lieeevvvable.

Cupcake towers are quite the rage these days. I love this shot!

A lil' macro action on the champagne glasses....

Jenni & Taylor: Thank you so much for including me in your day! Your hard work and planning paid off, as your day was a breeze. Best wishes and safe travels. We'll be in touch upon your return!
Today is the day the world met Cole. The day my brother became a dad. The day I became an aunt! Congrats to you and Jamie, Nick. I'm so proud of you!

Class of 2009: Your senior portrait galleries are currently active through April 15th. Be sure to get your orders in by the 14th.... because when your gallery expires.... it's GONE! Once you log in, you'll see the 'products' tab where you'll find all your info on senior announcements, design options, etc... Get it together and act quick!

While awaiting my flight home from the Denver airport, I suddenly heard a voice ask, "Khara????" I turned around to see Krista with her beautiful new baby girl, Lilly. Don't you love when the world reminds you just how small it is? Travel always does that for me... it's one of my favorite things about hitting the road! Anyway, I couldn't resist a couple of quick shots. :)
