Better and Better!

Just when you thought it couldn't get any better... (You DID think that, didn't you? ;)

I'm proud to announce the arrival (configuration) of new and improved client galleries! (Can I get a 'Woot woot?!')

This new photo viewing/ordering fantasticness will only apply to client galleries rendered from today forward (unless you bribe me (heavily) to re-render your existing gallery... ha ha!) Meaning, if your proofs aren't up yet, when they ARE up... they'll be part of the new system.

My hopes are that the system will make everyone's (yours AND my) life easier. And who doesn't like THAT? :)

Lindsey + Brett : Crazy Fun!

Lindsey + Brett's wedding was full of surprises and all kinds of great moments! Here are a few of my faves. :)

I *love* this shot... that's Lindsey's dad in the background.

A hug from mom...

A stolen moment with Dad....

After they first saw each other, we jumped in my car and headed to the buzzing metropolis known as downtown Hickman, NE. So charming! (I LOVE this photo!)

Her ring is so beautiful.... two slim bands connected by the stone and mounting in the middle, and the rest of the way around, the ring is open. I love that! It keeps it light and airy... but still full of sparkle. Gorgeous!

Lately I'm diggin' a lot of retro post-processing. I love the look of this...

Can you see how much fun they were? We laughed a lot. They were so comfortable in front of the camera and up for pretty much anything....

When I pulled into town, I knew I wanted to shoot at this place. Isn't it darling? The vintage sign and lantern are so fab!

More beautifulness....

When she told me their reception would be down at the state fair grounds.... I immediately suggested we shoot at the Heritage School House. Remember that place? More vintage processing fun! (What a classic!)

Then it was time for fun wedding party shots.... but not before a certain groomsman had to answer nature's call.... behind a nearby vehicle! Doh!

Here's the wedding party executing Brett's request for slow-motion running. Ha ha ha! The close-ups are where it's at! (Can you even wait?)

One of the things that's most noticeable about these two, is the total best-friend/goofiness connection that they share. This was shot the moment they made their grand entrance at the reception....

Brett's cake.... a true retro classic!

This moment of Brett & his mom laughing is so pure, isn't it?

Lindsey and Brett outdid themselves with their first dance. They started off dancing to a slow classic, then... the music changed. They did a choreographed routine to a potpourri of songs including Usher, Sir Mix-a-Lot, Michael Jackson, and even.... the song/dance from Napoleon Dynamite. The only thing more entertaining than the dance, was watching how much fun they were having with each other... fantastic!

Thank you so much for the opportunity to share your special day with you. Life, love & happiness to you both!

Springboard Gals: Take 2!

Robin Gifford from Springboard called me to set up a shoot for her girls. We spent one (long- but fun!) day shooting. I haven't even had time to go through all the shots yet... but these were some that caught my eye.

Special thanks to the guys at Midwest Steel Co. for helping us out with this one... (we really had to twist their arms.... ha! Yeah right!)

Can I just say that I LOVE this! Getting a background to go 'white' like this is an artform all of its own. (Not to mention rawkin' the subtle reflection, the wind, and seamless integration between the floor board and back drop. Phew!) I must say... this image makes me proud. :) (disclaimer: of course it's helpful to have such a gorgeous subject.... if this was a photo of a greasy tire wrench, I don't know if it would have the same effect... ha ha ha!)

Is it just me, or does this shot remind you of the ol' Estee Lauder print ads for "Pleasures" perfume?

I love shooting with parking meters.... they're so.... happy! (Except for when ignoring them scores you tickets....)

Miranda could turn it on for the camera like you wouldn't believe. Bring it!

I love the hard-rocker chic look....

This gorgeous gal is a tower of legs. Amazing!

Of course, it was great to see Bryttie again too! Best wishes next year chica!

Time to Get Down!

Robin is so funny.... when she accompanies the girls to their shoots, she loves to play with her camera and shoot pictures of me shooting. Here are a few of what she recently sent me. Ha!

Me and my big ideas.... We hiked out into this field to score some shots, braving all kinds of things like snakes, ticks, and... of course, the heat! What a couple of die-hards!

I just realized that in most of the shots she sent me, I'm doing something ridiculous like this.... Is that some sort of new yoga pose? If not... it should be!

In the studio (bug free... mostly). :)

Thanks Robin! It's always fun to work with you!

Two Times the Fun!

These two cuties met up with me downtown for a shoot that was as much fun as it was a good workout! Ha! Chasing around twin toddlers is no easy feat... hats off to their amazing parents!

Trying to get both of 'em in the frame at the same time is challenging enough... when you start getting picky... (like say... having them both look ANYWHERE near the camera), it gets even tougher! Ha ha ha! I LOVE this shot!

This photo makes me smile.... what a little stinker! :)

Boo!

The kids saw their first REAL train while we were shooting. I LOVE this. It's the quintessential pointing and shouting that seems to go along with the excitement of the age. I can't wait 'til Emir and I have our own kids to share all kinds of excitement with.... so fun!

Little people LOVE to reach out and grab for my lens....

They're not always happy to be in front of it though.... (I love shots like this!)

Thanks for the fun guys. Have a fantabulous summer!

Emmy & Ivy : Radtastic

You may remember the post a short while ago about my super cute hat that I picked up from Emmy & Ivy. These two ladies are the creative geniuses behind all the super cute things in the shop. Not only are they gorgeous... they're smart, talented... and a lot of fun!

Meet Jackie Ostrowicki....

and Sarah McCurley

Local business owners who are rawking it big time. :)

Can't wait to see what you two come up with next!

Karla + Eric : No Daffodils Were Harmed!

Karla and Eric met up with me a few weeks ago for their love shoot. We took a chance with the weather (rain clouds followed us everywhere!) and scored some great shots!

(ps: no daffodils were harmed in the shooting of these photos.... :)

Relationships are all about balance... give and take. These two are in sync!

We got sprinkled on a tiny bit.... it was nothing these two couldn't handle!

Great work you two. I'm looking forward to your big day in August!

Kurt + Ascha: Down the Aisle!

I just got home from Kurt and Ascha's wedding and headed straight to the computer to download (and backup!) their photos. These are some of my faves.... so fun!

A happy bride and a bright red door! :)

When I pulled up this morning, I saw this red bus in the church parking lot and just had to shoot it. Turns out, it was their get-away vehicle! Great taste guys!

We borrowed Bridal Barbie from Lexi, the flower girl for this fun shot. Way to work it Ascha!

Red door mania continues....

This is Ascha's Grandpa. Isn't he adorable?

Reow!

The guys entertained themselves with a coin tossing game. The competition was intense!

Jeremiah loved workin' his moves for my camera. Here, he insisted on posing for this shot (in the middle of the entry way no less... Ha!). I seriously had nothing to do with this... it was all him!

Lately, I've seen quite a few pregnant brides maids. This little baby is due in 1.5 weeks!

The wedding party indulged my whim for this shot. They braved the heat (and the steep hill climb!) Thanks guys!

When their first dance came around, these two were ready to party!

Thanks so much guys! Love and happiness to you both!
